Posted: 19.05.2010

Project Masiluleke selected as one of 7 gold award winners at the prestigious 2010 Impumelelo Sustainability Awards.

During the awards ceremony on 16 May 2010 in Cape Town, Gustav Praekelt, Founder and Director of the Praekelt Foundation, received the award on behalf of the project's collaborating partners in Cape Town. The gold award comprises a fourty-thousand Rand grant from Impumelelo. Project M was selected as one of 20 winning organizations from hundreds of worthy applications.

The grant will be used to create a project brand and web-profile, to create awareness and spread the word about the project and how it is contributing to the fight against HIV and AIDS. Says Gustav Praekelt: "We are delighted to be the only mobile-phone based innovation that received an Impumelelo Award this year, but this speaks to the tremendous potential that mobile technology still holds to address public health issues, like HIV and AIDS".

Project Masiluleke is a collaborative partnership between Praekelt Foundation and a team of highly committed partners. Read more about the partners and the project here.
